Mostly Black Everything

Coat - Topshop (similar styles here, here, here and here)
Scarf - ASOS
Gloves - Esprit @ ASOS
Hat - Topshop
Necklace - Topshop
Trainers - Nike @ JD Sports

This is one of two outfits I managed to photograph in Paris. It was extremely cold hence the layers and massive duvet-like coat. I've had a similar style of hat from Topshop before and it was way too big so I was a bit worried the same would happen with this one, but it's the perfect fit and oh-so-cosy. It also livens up an otherwise all black everything outfit which would be a bit boring. The gloves were stylish AND functional - they have small areas on the finger tips to allow the use of a touch phone while wearing them...amazing.
I love this Cheap Monday ASOS dress, it's so simple and comfortable yet still looks quite nice and interesting so in the rare few seconds that the coat came off, at least the suffering was worth it.
In Paris, comfy shoes are an absolute necessity with all the sightseeing and aimless wandering - I got these from the kids section of JD Sports. They go up to a UK size 5.5 (which doesn't sounds very juniot to me) and they're much cheaper than the adults' versions! They barely left my feet the whole trip.

This will be the last post of the year for me. I didn't feel it necessary to do a year's round up as I've only been at this a few months so hopefully next year there will be more for me to say!! I hope everyone has a lovely night tonight!

Festive Jumper

Jumper - Topshop
Jeans - Topshop
Slip ons - ASOS
Jacket - Topshop
Necklace - Topshop

Here's a wee belated festive jumper post from a couple weeks ago. Thought I should get this post out before the jumper goes away until next year! I like this jumper as it is subtly festive and so you can wear it throughout December without getting funny looks. Don't get me wrong I love a good cheesy crimbo jumper but you don't get a lot of wear out of them let's be honest.
These ASOS slip ons are stunning and they were quite the bargain and I love them but they cut my heels to bits! I will need to wear them round the house to break them in a bit I think!

NYE - Best of the Onesies

With Christmas out of the way we all now have New Year's Eve to look forward to. I hope you all have exciting plans but the most important thing is the outfit choice! I made a wee collage of me at the last 5 NYEs and as you can see I've changed quite a bit. I think a NYE outfit needs to be a little special and different to any night out. As you can see from 2 of these outfits, I'm partial to a NYE jumpsuit. I especially like the blue and black ASOS jumpsuit I wore two years ago and am having eBay seller's regret while I type this. Quite often I feel a jumpsuit is a bit too fancy for a night out but on New Year anything goes. So for that reason, I decided to focus on one pieces for this post! Get your orders in with Next Day Delivery if you haven't already got your outfit sorted!
2008-Urban Outfitters Dress
2009 - River Island Dress
2010 - Topshop Jumpsuit
2011 - ASOS Jumpsuit
2012 - Topshop Dress

First stop, ASOS. You can always count on ASOS for a good selection of jumpsuits and playsuits. They really do have something for everyone. Here's a wee selection of my favourites. I wore the silky one in teal for my birthday night out back in August (you can see it here) and you'll see one of these in my crimbo pressies post (here). The blue check playsuit has been in my 'saved items' for months but I'm holding out in the hope of further reductions!

You'll notice a lot of black and white in this post, which I think is a winning festive combo but there are some options if you want to inject a bit of colour into your NYE look. The second option below is actually what I'm planning on wearing, it arrived the other day and is STUNNING in person! I also adore the contrasting bow on the third look.

Next we're going to Topshop, and adding a bit more colour! The first one is something a little different but I love it. It all depends on what kind of thing you're doing to be honest! I have the second playsuit and it is such lush, soft material and has a gorgeous scoop back. The nude and black one is on my wishlist and is stunning!

I also had a wee look on Miss Selfridge. This isn't somewhere I often look but was actually thoroughly impressed with their partywear selection! I think I'll make it a New Year's Resolution to shop there more often (big, hard-hitting resolutions I have eh?). I particularly love the middle two embellished playsuits.

Finally, Zara. If you saw my Boxing Day Sale Haul post, you'll know I hit the Zara sale hard and am still eagerly awaiting the arrival of my purchases. All three of these items are in the sale and I absolutely love the vintage look of the first one below. The white playsuit is one of my purchases from the sale and it looks stunning. You'll see I've made an exception and included a dress in the post...but it's just so gorge how could I not?!

Happy shopping everyone and I hope you all have a great night when it comes!!

Spoiled Rotten

As I type I am working my way through the obligatory Christmas chocolate orange - at an alarmingly fast rate might I add. Thought I'd share some of my crimbo gifts with you lot so eennjoooyy!

So what have we got here. Well my mum is always asking me what I want for Christmas so I made a wee ASOS wish list and sent it on over to her and she chose me this gorgeous playsuit, floaty top and Monki clutch! I absolutely couldn't wait to use the clutch and so it is featured in my Christmas Day OOTD post (here), it's huge so you can literally throw anything in there which is unusual for a clutch!!

Also another festive jumper (one can never have too many). I particularly like this one as it isn't overtly Christmassy and more generally wintery, therefore extending the acceptable wear period! Ideal. My brother and his girlfriend got me that stunning orange snake effect handbag that I cannot wait to use.

I was also lucky enough to get two different benefit make up sets and that huge Molton Brown bubble bath set. Then when you add the tea light holder with my name on it I think I am in for a January full of  home pampering.

The new Bridget Jones book found its way under my tree and this made me realise I've actually not read the previous book (books? I don't even know - how uneducated of me) so I'm definitely getting them bought now and I'll have a wee marathon!

Last but not least we have a stunning Art Deco style photo frame, the Lisa Faulkner cookbook, which I'm looking forward to trying out, and a couple DVDs - Great Gatsby (fave film of 2013) and Beyonce (fave person of all time - ever - ever).

Well it's all over for another year but I love how you always have New Year to look forward to after Christmas and we all have such lovely presents to enjoy as well!

Vintage Leather

Shorts - ASOS
Jumper - Topshop
Black top - ASOS
Necklace - Topshop
Socks - Topshop
Boots - Ebay
Scarf - ASOS
Coat - Next

Finally. A pair of leather shorts that doesn't expose more than should be seen in daylight. My body shape just doesn't seem compatible with Topshop shorts so these ASOS vintage ones were a breath of fresh air. They're super comfy and definitely more appropriate for every day wear than a pair of cheek-skimmers!  I can't get enough of these ASOS crop top turtle necks, I now have accumulated 2 in black and 1 in white. They are just so handy to throw on under a jumper in winter...a nice wee change from a shirt collar.

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and obviously now the pertinent question...what to wear on New Year's Eve?! Time to get sale shopping - which I have already spent a morning doing...see my sale haul post here!

Boxing Day Sale Haul

As you all know, the best way to ward off the post crimbo blues is always a bit of sale shopping. I couldn't quite pluck up the energy to go into town on Boxing day but I did do some from the comfort of my bed yesterday morning!

First comes Zara. Always a good place to browse the sale to see if some of their stunning clothes could be snapped up at lower prices. However, most of the items only had a £5-10 reduction which was a bit disappointing but it's just too risky a game to wait till they get reduced further in case they're sold out!!

Here are some of the beauties that are making their way to me as I type:
Black faux leather dress - £29.99 £22.99
Camo print smock top - £39.99 £29.99
Lace trim shorts - £22.99 £15.99
White playsuit - £29.99 £19.99
The dress and playsuit were real bargains despite only having small reductions and I'm thinking the playsuit may be a New Years Eve outfit option. I don't actually have plans yet but am sorting my outfit out. Priorities.

I also ordered this parka jacket. I've been looking for a parka for a while but wanted a high quality one and the Zara ones really do tick that box, the only problem being the slightly too high price tag so a wee boxing day reduction sorted that one out.
Combination Parka - £89.99 £69.99

Next stop was the old faithful - Topshop. Let's just say I went a bit mental, still in my turkey coma perhaps. I'm telling myself I'll return some of it so hopefully I'll keep to that!! One of the many things I love about Topshop is that you still get student discount on sale items...so that just made this all the more difficult!

Camo jacket - £60 £30
Camo trousers - £45 £20

This coat has had my eyes on it for a while, if not for wearing outdoors at least to snuggle into on a cold night and a more than half price reduction sealed the deal right up!

Cocoon coat - £125 £60

Next for some festive party wear. An essential for every wardrobe.
Fluffy Dress - £50 £22
Bronze shell top - £35 £20

I've loved these boots for a while and got myself involved in a bidding war over a pair so was deeeeelighted to see them in the sale.
AEON Neoprene boots - £78 £40

Festive present jumper - £50 £25

Last but certainly not least I got this gorgeous velvet robe. I saw it in the 'New In' section a few weeks ago and had to physically restrain myself from buying it so I'm very excited for its arrival. I imagine I'll feel like someone from an old movie while gliding around my flat wearing it.
Velvet robe - £45 £20

I hope you are all recovering from the festivities and are getting excited for New Year's Eve!!!

An LBD Crimbo

Dress - ASOS
Coat - Autograph @ M+S
Necklace - Gift
Bag - Monki @ ASOS

Just a quick post from me in a mid-Christmas day lull. This is my crimbo get up and includes a fave present in the form of this gorgeous Monki clutch. I simply don't have the time to try and find the links for everything but this coat has been taunting me for weeks with its sold-out-edness and then when I was in Paris at the weekend I stumbled upon one in my size in the Champs Elysees branch of all places! Got to love M+S. Anyway, I hope everyone's having a lovely day so far and Santa has been good to one and all!

Merry Christmas,

Cloud Nine

Coat - ASOS
Jumper - Topshop
Jeans - ASOS
Boots - ASOS
Necklace - Topshop

This is my favourite outfit I've worn in a long time. These boots are amazing, I've not seen anything like them anywhere else and can't get enough of them. This is the same as my pink ASOS coat seen in a couple of previous posts and I think I love it even more than the pink - if that is possible. It's so lush and has such an expensive look and feel - it's like wearing a cloud. I think it offsets the casual look of the boots and the ripped jeans perfectly!
